We treated ourselves to the Burns Night Supper a creative interpretation based on traditional Scottish dishes as only the Terrace on the Hills outstanding chef can conjure up. Items in quotes on the menu hint not to take descriptions at face value, hence Cock-a-leekie was a deliciously moist chicken breast rolled around a leek, served with a quenelle of haggis a much more acceptable way of doing our seasonal duty to Rabbie Burns.The dessert blackberry, apple and Drambuie cranachan was a delicious and attractive arrangement of skilfully prepared ingredients, the apple part being a parfait topped with lemon, an absolute delight. All the flavours were perfectly balanced and the dish was beautifully presented.The 5 course menu was accompanied by a flight of three wines, chosen with skill to match the dishes admirably. The service was faultless, as ever and the evening was perfectly paced. A delight.
A cozy, warm & friendly atmosphere welcomed us to this small, exceptionally clean and unusually but nicely appointed cafe. The friendly staff were attentive, polite & helpful. Facilities were a little unusual too but clean & well stocked although access not suitable for anyone with mobility difficulties (as down a two-flight staircase). We enjoyed promptly served drinks that were well presented & very nice. We didn't have to wait long for meals that were really nicely cooked & very tasty. The only negative was the menu was limited - unless you can enjoy eggs! Not aimed towards anyone on a low carb or low cholesterol diet, which is a shame because everything else really was very nice & they did do their best within their menu limitations to accommodate those special dietary needs. We were served with filling, excellently presented & flavoursome meals. Not the "Sunday dinner" type restaurant we initially hoped for prior to finding the place, but instead we were pleasantly surprised to really enjoy a well presented brunch in an upmarket tea shop aimed primarily to provide relaxing coffee breaks, afternoon tea or quick lunches - which they did beautifully. Overall an enjoyable experience in an unusual little cafe in the beautiful town of Malvern - don't miss them off your itinerary!
We've been here twice for the evening taster menu, and both times the food has been fantastic. It's good to try dishes you wouldn't normally try. Highly recommended.
This place was amazing. We came here for breakfastd the food was delicious. The owner was also very lovely and the entire atmosphere is great. Highly recommended
Evening tasting menu is fantastic and as good as anywhere I have been. Only reason not 5 stars is that I really wish there was some more soft furnishings and light music at night. It would really add to the atmosphere for the 7 courses experience.
